Welcome to Otterhead Books

The OTTERHEAD song/story was written in the wee hours of December 22, 2012. That was the night of the long-awaited end of the five thousand year Mayan Calendar. Many people thought something big was going to happen. The only thing that happened to me was this: that I woke up in the middle of the night with a song in my head. I got up immediately and wrote it all down before I could forget it. It was a strange sort of Christmas story, told in verse, sung a-capella by an old man. It is an odd tale, involving multiple time-lines of the Omniverse, the surprising power of Santa Claus, climate change, and the fate of the Otters. In 2023 graphic novelist and illustrator Gustav Carlson became interested in the idea of doing the art. In June of 2024 that dream finally became a reality! It has been a long and winding road to get here, but the books are finally available!
